Fuel tank selector valve

I just purchased a manual for the 67 - 87 chevy truck and the maunal has no trouble shooting for the fuel tank selecting valve....
The right tank is working fine and indicating on the guage fine but will not go to the left tank...
I have already replaced the switch itsself and no luck

any help?
