2002 Ram 1500 drain plug

Can someone tell me if there is some secret to opening the drain plug on the above? There is a hex plastic fitting on the bottom of the radiator but it only turns 1/6 of a turn before it stops and nothing comes out. I'm afraid to crank it too much because it is plastic. Any suggestions? Don't want to pull the lower hose off.

Hey tblaze537: The radiator pet **** or drain should unscrew. Try opening up the radiator cap to see if that works. You could have sediment in the way of it draining. Once you release the cap, it would it allow it to drain at that point. Look at page 1-31 of your Haynes manual #30042 to see if you are missing any steps.
