Hi joelmac: When your "Service Engine Soon" light is on, it indicates there is a trouble code stored in your car's computer. These trouble codes are very helpful in diagnosing your problem. A simple-to-use tool is available inexpensively from Auto Parts stores that will read the trouble codes (some stores will read the codes for you for free).
