I am trying to change my gearbox oil in my 2001 5.9L Dodge Ram 1500. I do not see a drain plug or a place to add the oil. take it that I need to take the cover off in order to change the oil, but how do I replace it?
I am going to use synthetic 80W/90W gear oil. Also, do I need to use the Friction Modifier when using a synthetic?
Thanks for any help that I may recieve.

Hi CaseyMc2: We need to know which transmission you have. Please reply back with that information. All NV3500-5500 have an access plug/drain on the passenger side of the main body.

Re the use of a friction modifier, please refer to your owners manual or contact your local dealer for up to date information on fluid types.
